Easterly at Pagham again, but overcast unlike yesterday and with a much bigger swell which had built up overnight. By the time I arrived (12.30) the tide had dropped quite a bit but there were still waves to be dodged in the shorebreak. I rigged a 6.5 rather than risk blubbing in an onshore wind, then had second thoughts as others all seemed to be on smaller stuff. Stuck with the 6.5 and was happy to have plenty of power. There were loads of quite decent waves for backside stuff on the spit and elsewhere. Eventually the wind switched off suddenly and I ended up with a big swim in. So yet again a curtailed session but probably the best all year for me mainly because there were some waves to play with. A little bit more wind would have been nice and a little bit more time too. As I swam in to shore the rain started but by the time I'd had a shower and cup of tea the rain stopped and the sun came out followed by a complete rainbow and a partial secondary one. A super low tide too, so a great opportunity to check out those fin-grabbing rocks.
